In fact, I may be close to the bottom in that department. I am a mystery/crime writer, which means I deal in death: gotta have at least one body in the story, more if possible. At least it’s fictional! Sometimes when people ask me where I got my outrageous plots, I answer with my own question: Have you read the newspaper lately? In any case, I think mysteries are so popular because they usually offer justice for crimes that, in real life, might go unpunished. There’s always a puzzle and it’s always solved. I love that. Solving tech problems is not within my skill set, however. Luckily I have my wonderful, talented daughter-in-law, THE Meredith Henderson, who helped me with the initial website design. So as not to bother her too often, this site will provide all the basic information about me and my work. Here is my writing path for those of you who are interested in me, in reading, or in becoming an author yourself. In 2005, my first book, Emily Taylor Mystery One, “The Bridgeman”, was self-published by my companies, Moe Publications, a sister of Sisbro & Co. Inc., and immediately sold all copies printed. The feedback regarding the novel was tremendous. In 2006, I was given an Arts Award from the City of Brampton to honour the 2005 novel. Two years later I published “Victim”, Emily Taylor Mystery Two, through Trafford Publishing Inc. My readers told me they loved it. “Victim” also received a very flattering review in the Hamilton Spectator by Don Graves. A year after that came Book Three, entitled Legacy, again published by Moe Publications, of Sisbro & Co. Inc., again with a favorable review from Don Graves and my readers. In the meantime, I wrote a book called Positive Energy Practicum, illustrated by my photographer husband, Vincent Astolfo. Not published – yet. The fourth and final installment of the Emily Taylor Series, called “Seventh Fire”, was launched in the fall, 2010, once more published by Moe Publications. In September, 2011, Imajin Books bought the ebook rights to all four books. Right now, I am working on four books: a cozy, a darker mystery, and two children’s mysteries. I am a Past President of The Crime Writers of Canada and a member of Sisters in Crime. At the Bloody Words Conference in 2009, I won Second Prize in the Bony Pete short story contest.
